User verification

In accordance with the Zakon o kibernetičkoj sigurnosti NN 14/2024-254 (Cybersecurity Act), published on February 7, 2024, the Registry and registrars of .hr domains are required to verify the exact identity of domain holders during the registration process based on secure and reliable systems and data sources, i.e. to verify the users.

From February 15, 2025, verification will be mandatory in order to register a .hr domain. For successful verification, during the registration process or after submitting a domain registration request, the user is required to provide the selected registrar with a copy of one of the appropriate documents listed below:


NATURAL PERSONS


  • Identity card
  • Passport
  • Certificate of residence issued by the competent authority (digitally signed or stamped)
  • Driver’s license
  • Statement by the individual digitally signed with a verified digital signature (including purpose and details: name, surname, personal identification number)

LEGAL ENTITIES


  • Identity card of the person authorized to represent the legal entity
  • Passport of the person authorized to represent the legal entity
  • Certificate of residence issued by the competent authority (digitally signed or stamped) of the person authorized to represent the legal entity
  • Driver’s license of the person authorized to represent the legal entity
  • Statement by the person authorized to represent the legal entity digitally signed with a verified digital signature (including purpose and details: name, surname, OIB/VAT number)
  • Document or statement with the signature and stamp of the legal entity (including purpose, and details of the legal entity: name, OIB/VAT number)

If it is not possible to determine the person authorized to represent the legal entity in any of the available online registries, an additional official document specifying that person must be provided.
